About the project
The HSE Group follows guidelines in environmental protection and renewable energy sources. We are already the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources in Slovenia. Thanks to our hydroelectric power plants, we produced as much as 88 percent of the “green” electricity in Slovenia in 2020. With 995 GWh of electricity produced in October, Dravske elektrarne Maribor (Drava power plants Maribor) and Soške elektrarne Nova Gorica reached the highest monthly production in the history of the HSE Group, and in the same month we also recorded the largest daily amount of electricity produced in the history of the HSE: a total of 36.7 GWh.
Together we have 17 hydroelectric power plants, 26 small hydroelectric power plants and one pumped storage hydroelectric power plant. Project HSE sonce (HSE Sun), however, combines our guidelines, principles and projects in solar power plant construction.
Skupina HSE sledi smernicam na področju varstva okolja in obnovljivih virov energije. Že danes smo največji proizvajalec električne energije iz obnovljivih virov v Sloveniji. V letu 2020 smo proizvedli kar 88 odstotkov »zelene« električne energije v Sloveniji, za kar gre zasluga našim hidroelektrarnam. Dravske elektrarne Maribor in Soške elektrarne Nova Gorica so z 995 GWh proizvedene električne energije oktobra dosegle največjo mesečno proizvodnjo v zgodovini obstoja skupine HSE, istega meseca pa smo zabeležili tudi največjo dnevno količino proizvedene električne energije v zgodovini obstoja HSE: kar 36,7 GWh.
Skupaj imamo 17 hidroelektrarn, 26 malih hidroelektrarn in eno črpalno hidroelektrarno. Projekt HSE Sonce pa združuje naše usmeritve, načela in projekte na področju izgradnje sončnih elektrarn.

SEGMENT 5 OF THE ZLATOLIČJE SOLAR POWER PLANT
SEGMENT 5 OF THE ZLATOLIČJE SOLAR POWER PLANT
Segment 5 of the Zlatoličje Solar Power Plant will be installed on the left bank of the outflow canal of Zlatoličje, the largest Slovenian hydro power plant, from the bridge across the canal to the Slovenja Vas karting track, in the length of 905 metres. A total of 5,694 photovoltaic modules have been installed with a total nominal power of 2.5 MWp, which can annually produce 3,000 MWh of electricity. Given the slope of the terrain, which in some places exceed 30o, the construction was a considerable challenge and required caution from the contractor, the sheltered workshop HTZ Velenje, which is also part of the HSE Group. A special feature of the power plant is that the central inverter, with a substation and medium voltage switchyard, is housed in a container.
Segment 5 of the Zlatoličje Solar Power Plant is or will be part of a larger solar power plant with a total projected nominal power of 30 MWp and planned annual production of 37,000 MWh, which will be constructed on the inflow and outflow canals of the Zlatoličje and Formin hydro power plants.

The solar power plant is connected to the 0.4 / 20 kV Elektro Primorska substation in the yard of SHPP Hubelj.
PRAPRETNO SOLAR POWER PLANT
THE PRAPRETNO SOLAR POWER PLANT WITH A TOTAL CAPACITY OF 3,036 MW WILL BE BUILT ON THE RECULTIVATED AND CLOSED PART OF THE PRAPRETNO NON-HAZARDOUS WASTE LANDFILL NEAR HRASTNIK AND WILL BE THE LARGEST SOLAR POWER PLANT IN SLOVENIA.
It will have 6,902 monocrystalline modules, each with a power capacity of 440 Wp, and is expected to produce 3,362 MWh of electricity per year, which is sufficient for the annual electricity needs of about 800 average Slovenian households or about 30 schools. The modules will be installed on a structure that will be attached to the ground. The incline of the modules will be 20° and they will be oriented to the south.
The construction of the power plant at Prapretno is of great symbolic significance for the HSE Group and the local environment. The area was very environmentally burdened in the past due to the production of electricity in the Trbovlje thermal power plant and nearby coal mining. HSE will revive electricity production at this location, but in an environmentally friendly way, without greenhouse gas emissions.
The Prapretno solar power plant will cover an area of about 4.5 football fields.
