ŠOŠTANJ THERMAL POWER PLANT (TEŠ) SUCCESSFULLY COMPENSATES FOR THE LOSS OF ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION DURING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE OF NEK

During the shut-down of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) due to scheduled maintenance works, which started almost one month ago, the power plants of the HSE Group successfully compensated for the loss of electricity production. HSE thus produced more than 600 GWh of electricity between 1 and 28 October, of which more than half, or 312 GWh, was produced by Generator 6 of the TEŠ (both generators of the TEŠ produced a combined 417 GWh).

Since the beginning of its regular operation, i.e. 25 June 2015, the availability of Generator 6 of TEŠ has been at 86%, and in the first nine months of 2019 at 81%, which is comparable with the top European power plants in terms of reliability of operation, production of electricity and availability.

In the first nine months of the year, Generator 6 of the TEŠ produced 2.181 GWh of electricity, the most in July (351 GWh), while on 22 October, the TEŠ as a whole exceeded 3,000 GWh in production. Its share in the entire production of the HSE Group was 42%, and in the entire electricity production in Slovenia 27%.
