Unit 6 at the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant (TEŠ) underwent a scheduled shut-down today. Regular maintenance work will be performed during the shut-down, which is scheduled to continue until 9 May 2022.

The TEŠ has produced 1,208 GWh of electricity so far this year, of which Unit 6 accounted for 1,012 GWh. In addition, it also generated 161 GWh of thermal energy for the Šalek Valley during this period, with Unit 6 alone accounting for 122 GWh.

During the shut-down of Unit 6, the production of electricity for the needs of the Slovenian power network and thermal energy for the Šalek Valley will be secured with the operation of Unit 5 and gas-powered units.
