PRAPRETNO SOLAR POWER PLANT OBTAINS OPERATING PERMIT

Prapretno, currently the largest solar power plant in Slovenia, having a capacity of 3 MW, obtained a valid operating permit on 2 August 2022 as the first solar power plant in Slovenia. This successfully completes all administrative procedures that enable regular operation of the power plant. Since 4 April 2022, when the start-up and functional tests began, the power plant has produced 1,906,583 kWh of “green” electricity, which would suffice for the annual supply of approximately 450 average Slovenian households.

With the successful completion of the project to construct the Prapretno Solar Power Plant, the HSE Group is moving towards utilising solar energy to obtain electricity from large solar power plants at a facilitated pace, thus becoming, in addition to the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources, the largest producer of electricity from solar power plants. The seven solar power plants of the HSE Group supply more than 1,600 average Slovenian households.

HSE already has plans to construct a second phase of the Prapretno Solar Power Plant, which will increase its power to a total of approximately 13 megawatts. Currently in the start-up and functionality testing stage is the Zlatoličje Solar Power Plant, which has a capacity of 2.5 MW and was recently built on the outflow canal of the hydroelectric power plant of the same name. A valid operating permit for the solar power plant is expected to be obtained this month.
