HTZ VELENJE PARTICIPATED IN THE RENOVATION WORK OF THE FORMER TRBOVLJE THERMAL POWER PLANT

On the site of the former Trbovlje Thermal Power Plant, which has been operating since the beginning of 2018 under the new name HSE Energetska družba Trbovlje, d. o. o. (hereinafter: HSE EDT), an energy location has always been maintained, which has proven to be very useful in the current situation. An overhaul was carried out on the two preserved gas blocks in September of this year, so that the blocks could be restarted in the event of a possible shortage of electricity. The employees of HTZ Velenje, the subsidiary company of the Velenje Coal Mine, also successfully participated in the overhaul.

The employees of the Electro-Mechanical Department of the company HTZ Velenje, together with workers of HSE EDT and under the supervision of the local expert staff, carried out renovation work on the auxiliary devices at the gas block facilities PB1 and PB2. The employees of HTZ replaced worn-out profiles and sheet metal on auxiliary structures and facilities, repaired doors for the generator facility, made and installed inspection doors, replaced walking sheet metal at the access points, and internally repaired the intake air filters.

HTZ Velenje cooperates very well with related companies within the HSE Group. Nina Mauhler, Managing Director of HTZ Velenje said: “This time, too, we responded immediately to the request of the company HSE EDT and provided a team of qualified workers in the shortest possible time, and also in this way proved that in these times of crisis, we can contribute our share to the energy stability of Slovenia with our joint efforts and our own staff and knowledge.”

After the overhaul, the Trbovlje gas blocks will each be able to provide 25 to 30 megawatts of electricity per hour. Their advantage is a quick connection to the power grid, which takes about 10 minutes.
