(Velenje, 30 August 2019) – The Supervisory Board of Premogovnik Velenje, d. o. o., the operator of the Velenje Coal Mine, appointed on Friday, 30 August 2019 Marko Mavec the director general of Premogovnik Velenje for a four-year term, on the basis of the provisions of the Companies Act and the company’s articles of association.

Marko Mavec holds a master’s degree in mining and geotechnical engineering. Between 1981 and 2004, he was employed in Premogovnik Velenje, most recently as the head of technical services. For the last 15 years, he was the director in the company ERICo institute for ecological research, today known as Eurofins ERICo Slovenija. Mavec possesses professional technical knowledge in geotechnical engineering, mining, geodesy, geomechanics, hydrogeology, ecology and environmental science, and sustainable development.
