AFTER 65 DAYS OF UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, UNIT 6 HAS A PLANNED SHUT-DOWN TODAY

Unit 6 at the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant (TEŠ) will undergo a planned shut-down today, 24 December 2021, after 65 days of uninterrupted operation. The shut-down is expected to take place until January 3 2022. Regular maintenance work will be carried out during the shut-down. Detailed inspections will be performed as part of this planned shut-down in the run-up to the scheduled annual shut-down in 2022.

To date, Unit 6 alone has produced 2,498 GWh of electricity this year. In total, with units 5 and 6 and the gas unit included, we produced 3,127 GWh of electricity and 330 GWh of thermal energy for the Šalek Valley this year.

During the shut-down of Unit 6, the production of electricity and thermal energy for the Šalek Valley will be secured with the operation of Unit 5 and gas-powered units.
