A scheduled shutdown of Generator 6 of the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant will be carried out on Thursday, 15 March 2018, at 10 p.m. The shutdown, which will be in force over the weekend, is needed to carry out warranty inspections and measurements upon a cold start of the generator prior to a scheduled overhaul. The next overhaul is scheduled for May 2018 and will take two months.

During the shutdown of Generator 6 – costs of the warranty settings will be covered by General Electric – Generator 4 will be in operation to ensure electricity production and an undisturbed supply of heating for the Šalek Valley.
