THE ŠOŠTANJ THERMAL POWER PLANT IS AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF SLOVENIA’S ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY

The Šoštanj thermal power plant has in recent weeks, despite higher than average temperatures and drought (which corresponds with the hydrology of Slovenian rivers being lower than the long-term average), operated at the highest level. The daily production threshold of electric power reaches between 14 and more than 18 GWh. On Friday, 4 August 2017, TEŠ reached the second highest production of electric power this year, namely 18.4 GWh (the highest production threshold was achieved in January with 18.6 GWh). Today TEŠ accounts for approximately 40 percent of the total production of electric power in Slovenia.
