TET Thermal Power
TET is one of two power plants in Slovenia which produce electricity by using domestic coal. It boasts of a long standing tradition and experience; the first kWh of electricity was being already produced here in 1906. TET is the largest energy facility in its region, Zasavje. Together with Zasavje coal mines it functioned in the past as an important basis for the development of industry, craft and traffic in Zasavje and throughout Slovenia. The thermal power plant has two production units – a steam plant with a power capacity of 156 MW, which produces electricity from brown coal from the Zasavje coal mines, and two steam plants with a joint power capacity of 2 x 34 MW that utilise fuel oil and function as reserves in the Slovenian electricity system. The annual production of electricity in the thermal power plant is approximately 600 GWh, and the collective available power borders 168 MW.
