Premogovnik Velenje d.d. (PV)

PV is a technologically advanced coalmine that ranks among the top in Europe from the point of view of equipment and safety. Its speciality is the world renowned “Velenje Longwall Method”. This method is most suitable for extracting thicker layers due to its method of productivity. It also enables filling and fortifying the space after extraction.
The amount of extracted coal in PV depends on the plans by the Slovenian power industry. Annually it amounts to four million tons of lignite, which is entirely intended for the needs of TEŠ. Along with extracting coal, PV attends to numerous activities, such as projecting mining, mechanisation and electro-projects for underground facilities and surface digs; also planning all kinds of underground facilities, drilling, geo-mechanical research, and cave-measurements, hydro-geological and technological services. Modern equipment and high technical expertise ensures employee safety and high productivity, which helps the competitiveness of TEŠ electricity and the entire HSE Group.
